Controller: [placeholder: operator name, address, email].
KnotScript stores the account (name and email from the sign-in provider) and the answers you type about the couple, including an optional note on religious or cultural elements. That note is optional. Leave it blank for a non-religious ceremony.
The answers describe other people. Only write what the couple is content to have in a draft script.
Sub-processors: Clerk (sign-in), Neon (database), Groq (the writing model), Gumroad (payment, as merchant of record), Vercel (hosting). Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity run only after you opt in, as described below. Resend and PostHog may be added later and are not used in this draft.
We keep the ceremony while the account exists. Free accounts with no activity for 12 months are deleted. Operational logs are kept for 30 days.
You can download your data as JSON, or delete the account, from the account page. Those actions cover access and erasure for the data this app stores.
Analytics and cookies
If you decline, nothing loads. No analytics script is added, and no analytics cookie is set.
Google Analytics 4 is run by Google Ireland Ltd. We use it for aggregate usage statistics: which pages help, and where people stop. IP addresses are anonymised. Consent Mode v2 starts with every storage flag denied, and nothing is set until you opt in. Advertising features stay off, including ads storage, ad personalisation, and Google signals.
Microsoft Clarity is run by Microsoft Ireland. We use it for heatmaps and anonymised session recordings, so we can fix pages that confuse people. All typed text and your ceremony script are masked.
The first visit shows a banner where you can accept analytics or decline. You can change your mind later with Cookie settings in the footer. That opens the same choice again.
The cookies are _ga and _ga_* (Google Analytics) and _clck and _clsk (Clarity). Google Analytics 4 keeps data for 14 months. Clarity keeps cookies for up to 13 months and recordings for 30 days.
